How to mute discord notifications
To mute Discord notifications, you can mute individual channels or entire servers by right-clicking the channel or server name and selecting “Notification Settings” to choose your desired mute duration. You can also turn off desktop notifications or specific notification sounds globally in User Settings > Notifications, or use Streamer Mode for temporary, all-silencing muting.
Muting a Channel or Server
This allows you to silence specific conversations or entire communities.
- Right-click/Click-hold: the server name on the left-hand side or the specific channel you wish to mute.
- From the dropdown menu, select “Notification Settings”.
- Choose the option to “Mute Server” or “Mute Channel”.
- You can then select a duration, such as “For 15 minutes,” “For 1 hour,” or “Until I turn it back on”.
Muting All Notifications
- This method provides a global way to stop all notifications across Discord.
- Click the User Settings (gear icon) at the bottom-left of the Discord app.
- Select “Notifications” from the sidebar on the left.
- In the “Sounds” section, you can turn off notification sounds by toggling off specific options or selecting “Disable all notification sounds”.
You can also turn off “Enable Desktop Notifications” to prevent any pop-up alerts on your computer.
